Welcome to Contact Lenses!

Dr. Jensen offers complete contact lens services including all specialty lenses and products. Contact lenses are medical devices and this is why they require a prescription to obtain them. These lenses are carefully selected to properly fit your eyes. Be patient with learning, as you will get it soon, and you will one day laugh at yourself at how difficult it first was to learn how to put the lenses in, and take them out.

Our contact lens specialist Michelle will order your lenses for you and answer any questions you may have.

You've Been Framed

Don't Become A Statistic!!

More than 90% of all eye injuries can be prevented with the use of appropriate protective eyewear. Sports participants using "street wear" (corrective eyewear or sunwear are at a far more severe risk of eye injury than participants using no eye protection at all.The American Academy of Pediatrics, American Academy of Ophthalmology and American Optometric Association all strongly recommend protective eyewear for all participants in sports in which there is a risk of eye injury.

The following sports are considered a high-to-moderate risk of eye injury: Basketball, Baseball, Softball, Lacrosse, Hockey, Tennis, Soccer, Volleyball, Water Polo, Football, Air Rifle, BB Gun, Paintball, Boxing, Martial Arts, Cricket, Squash, Racquetball, Fencing, Badminton, Fishing and Golf.

As a Sports Eye Injury Prevention Center, we at Layton Visual Center are committed to communicating with and educating eyewear consumers on the performance differences between fashion eyeglasses and protective sports eyewear that is designed to prevent eye injuries.

What is Protective Sports Eyewear?  Protective Sports Eyewear are eyeglass frames or goggles specifically designed and manufactured to meet or exceed the appropriate US impact protection standards. Be sure to come in and check out our selection of protective sports eyewear.

August is Children's Vision & Learning Month

Since 1995, August has been declared National Children's Vision and Learning Month. The goal of this national observance is to help educate parents and educators about the critical link between vision and learning. This month coincides with Back to School as summer vacation draws to a close and children across the nation return to school or enter school for the first time.

It is crucial that all children have vision screening prior to entering school and routine screening (annual) takes place. Vision problems can interfere with learning. It is reported that as many as 25% of children grades K-6 have vision issues that can impede learning.-School vision screening is a start, but does not replace full vision testing completed by a vision professional (at an optometrist or ophthalmologist). Many learning difficulties can be attributed to vision problems that are not detected during typical school vision screenings.

-Many times vision issues are misdiagnosed as "laziness", ADHD, dyslexia or other learning disabilities.
-Signs that your child may be struggling with vision include: frequent headaches, dizziness, tiredness, inability to complete homework in a timely fashion, or poor spelling.
